About Life Fitness
Life Fitness is an American fitness company that manufactures strength and cardio equipment, specialising in the production of stationary bikes and treadmills. Founded in 1970 by Ray Wilson and Augie Nieto, Life Fitness aims to engage and inspire exercisers to go further.
Life Fitness is dedicated to create better, more effective fitness equipment. In 1991 they produced their first ever treadmill called the 9500HR. This took a whole week to assemble would you believe! Nowadays a treadmill takes just a few hours. The 9500HR also included the patented FlexDeck Shock Absorption System. This innovative system aims to reduce joint stress by up to 30 percent when compared to running on hard surfaces.
In 2003 Life Fitness introduced the first LCD touch screen console and attachable LCD screen on a treadmill. Later they went on to develop the first cardio products with iPod© and USB connectivity.
Not only do LifeFitness make incredibly innovative cardio equipment but they also manufacture a huge strength equipment range, Hammer Strength, which features racks, plate-loaded and selectorised machines. It was created in 1989 by Gary Jones who was focused on improving strength training. He designed and constructed machines with biomechanics in mind—machines that move the same way that the body does.
LifeFitness have always been at the forefront of fitness technology. They are constantly evolving and will continue to create new models and features that will make the user experience better and better.
